A surfer was bitten by a shark and part of the incident was caught on video.
Initial reports indicate Dylan Nacass was surfing off South Side Beach near Geelong May 8.
Around 4 p.m. he was bitten on the leg by a shark. He was able to punch the shark, but it continued to follow him as he paddled in.
The extent of his injury is currently unknown, but thought to be minor.
Social media reports point to a thresher shark as the species involved.
This is the seventh shark attack bite in Australia this year.
Overall the number of shark attacks has been down, most likely since beaches have been closed due to the corona virus.
The approximate location of the bite has been posted on the 2020 Shark Attack Map.
