A spearfisherman and two teen surfers are recovering after three separate shark attacks in Australia.
Robbie Peck, 38, was spearfishing Oct. 7 off Port Hedland in Pilbara, Western Australia when a bull shark nearly severed his arm after he decided to go for one last fish.
The father of three was with his sons and brother-in-law around 11km off Port Hedland. They were enjoying their last day on Peck’s boat, which he planned to sell. He had targeted his last fish of the day and was holding it when the shark came out of nowhere.
However, the suspected bull shark misjudged where the fish was located, and bit Peck’s shoulder, then again under his arm and, again, his hand.
Peck was able to make it back to the boat where he was pulled onboard by his brother-in-law. An emergency call was sent while those onboard tried to save Peck’s nearly severed arm.
Paramedics were called around 11:30 to Richardson’s boat ramps and a crew from the Royal Flying Doctors collected the patient and flew him to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
Peck’s wife Emily said she is very thankful to all those who helped. Her 4-year-old son said his father was very brave.

Surfer bitten on the foot in Victoria
Izaak Johnstone, 17, had been surfing off Portland with several mates Oct. 6 when a shark bit his foot.
One of his mates felt something brush against him and warned everyone to get out of the water. A few minutes later Johnstone was bitten on his foot.
He said he felt his leg go down into the shark’s mouth and then the pressure of a bite. He yelled to his friends that he was bitten and then showed them his bloody right foot.
The group got out of the water and headed to the parking lot where they were lucky enough to run across paramedics. The paramedics carried Johnstone to the hospital where surgery was performed, and he was later released.
All of his friends are keen to return to surfing and say they will hit the waves once Johnstone is healed.
14-year-old was bitten by a white shark.
On August 30, around 7 a.m., an unidentified teen was at North Avoca Beach on the New South Wales Central Coast when he was bitten on his hand.
He was taken to the Gosford Hospital here he received stitches and was released.
Following the bite, the Department of Primary Industries set Shark-Management-Alert-In-Real Time (SMART) drumlines along Avoca and North Avoca beaches which is standard practice after a shark incident. None of the lines have captured any sharks.
All locations have been marked on the 2022 Shark Attack Map.
