A 21-year-old surfer was bitten by a spinner shark in Florida on Monday.
Peter Kirn was surfing near a fishing pier at Deerfield Beach when a shark grabbed his right foot.
The 5-foot blacktip shark spun in the water with Kirn’s foot in it’s mouth knocking him off his board and into the water.
Kirn climbed back on his board and paddled back into shorw.
Life guards administered first aid and called emergency services. Kirn was then transported to Broward Health North where he received 50 stitches.
The location has been marked on the 2015 shark attack bites tracking map.
