Michael Salinger was bitten by a shark at Playalinda Beach, Florida.
The 21-year-old surfer was bitten on his left hand Wednesday and his tendon was severed.
The shark is estimated to be a 5ft long bull shark. He was treated and released from the Parish Medical Center.
