A man has been bitten by a shark in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The unidentified 42-year-old was floating on his back around 3:25 p.m. today near 12th avenue south.
The Delaware man felt a tug on his foot as the shark bit down. He was able to shake the shark loose and return to shore. He believed the shark to be around three to five feet long.
He suffered several puncture wounds and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
There have been a total of forty-two shark attacks bites in 2016. Five of which were fatal. Seventeen reported in the US, with eleven occurring in Florida. Ten have occurred in Australia, three of which were fatal.
