A man was bitten by a shark off Tigertail Beach in Marco Island, Florida.
The unidentified 60-year-old was standing in less than two-feet of water April 26, when he was bitten multiple times by a shark.
Sergio DeLeon, a first responders at the scene, said the man was caught totally off guard.
“It happened so quick he didn’t even know what hit him and he just saw blood start pouring out, and that’s when his family helped him back onto shore. It looked like multiple bites actually at least two or three bites,” DeLeon told NBC 2
The man was discharged hours after he was taken to Physicians Regional in Naples.
Witnesses said the shark appeared to be 3- to 4-feet long.
This is the eighteenth reported shark attack bite worldwide this year and the fourth incident in Florida.
The location has been marked on the 2015 Shark Attack Map.
