Several great white sharks have been filmed eating a whale off the coast of Massachusetts.
Frank Duggan filmed the sharks on August 4th in Cape Cod Bay. The Captain of the boat Outer Limits II speculated that one of the sharks was around 16 feet long.
While the Atlantic Great White Conservancy has tagged several sharks in the area, none of the ones filmed appeared to have tags.
The group recently released an app called Sharktivity. It features a sharktivity map, where users can see reports of local shark spotting plotted on a map. According to their website, the app aims to “provide information on White Shark sightings, detections, movements, and research to raise awareness and help people and White Sharks co-exist peacefully.”
