A great white shark has been spotted off the coast of Orange Beach, Alabama.
Chase Tucker was diving with friends around 25 miles off Orange Beach May 23.
During the group’s fourth dive, they descended to the bottom and began searching for fish. As Tucker was hunting, he noticed something large lurking in the darkness.
He kept an eye on the big fish as it swam into view and realized it was a great white shark. Tucker attempted to warn his friends who were busy shooting fish on the bottom. Once he had their attention, the group ascended without spotting the curious shark.
This is not the first time a great white has been spotted in the area.
In June 2019 Paul Decuir and his friend David Murphy were participating in a Fishing Rodeo on an artificial tire reef when a large shark showed up.
They decided to ascend and avoid the shark which they estimated was about 10-feet-long.
In March of 2019 a great white was hooked off a pier on the Alabama and Florida line. The shark fought for around an hour and half before it was pulled to the pier. The anglers originally thought they had a mako, but realized it was a white shark after reeling it in.
