A fatal shark attack occurred in Mozambique, Africa on September 30.
The fisherman, only identified as Julius, was out with a companion around 12pm off Maxixee in the Inhambane province, when he was bitten by a shark.
His friend José Muendane was around 16 ft (5m) away when he heard a commotion and turned to see Julius fighting with the shark.
Unfortunately, Julius had sustained severe wounds to his stomach and legs. He was taken to the Rural Hospital Chicuque, where he was pronounced dead.
There have been a total of 72 shark attack bites in 2016. Seven of which were fatal; 34 were reported in the US, with 25 occurring in Florida. Thirteen have occurred in Australia, three of which were fatal.
