A 300lbs (21 stone) Porbeagle shark could be enter in the record books as the largest caught off the Welsh coast. 70 year old George Woodward pulled the shark on board after almost 2 hours of fighting time. Mr. Woodward told the BBC “I was beginning to think I wished it would fall off because I was in a bit of pain.”
The fishing trip was set up by Professional angler Martin Bowler to fulfill Mr. Woodward’s 65 year dream of catching a shark.
Boat skipper Andrew Alsop said “It took four of us to lift it onto the boat.” After the photos were taken the shark was released back into the water.
